Dudley Wedding fair this Sunday

All set for Wedding Fair at Village Hotel Dudley this Sunday (23rd)

As usual, it will run from 11am-3pm.

Hope to see you there.

Wedding Albums Launched

New great value wedding albums launched.

After showing two new sample wedding albums at recent wedding fairs. I am now going live with them! The reception to these new wedding albums has been very encouraging. They are a bit lighter. and more portable than some of my big, boxed wedding albums. So will work nicely alongside them.

Although I do include a full disc. soon to be a full memory stick! with all my packages. there is still nothing like having a wedding album. It is something that I find time. and time again. You can look at images all you want on a screen. But…. Get them printed and you will notice lots. and lots of detail. completely missed before.

Any way. Back to the albums. They are really good quality photo books. with ten substantial double pages. The wedding albums can be landscape. (some times known as view). or portrait. (sometimes known as upright).

They can be gloss finish. or they can be satin finish. There are no right or wrong answers here! Some people prefer one. and some people prefer the other. Just to add to the variety. I can design in a complex, montage style. (lots of pictures in the back ground). Or as a slightly more traditional layout. (pictures more widely spaced with a plain back ground).

So, if you want a closer look. Either come and see me at a wedding fair. or I can bring these great wedding albums to you!

Why Hire a Pro photographer ?

Why Hire a Pro photographer ?

Just found this article about hiring pro photographers. and why you should for your wedding and though I would share it with you.

The first thing that your clients need to know when seeking a photographer for their special event. is what a Pro Photographer is not.

A Pro Photographer is not.

  • A person with a new expensive camera.
  • A friend who knows a bit about photoshop.
  • Someone who gives away his images.
  • A person who sells their images for not a lot of money.

OK. so we can all agree what a pro photographer is not.  but it is equally important that we explain to potential clients why they should employ a Pro Photographer. and what they can expect to receive in return for paying your professional fees.

So here are a few bullet points for you to build into your story to potential clients.

A Pro Photographers is.

  • An individual with an Artists eye.
  • A person who understands image composition.
  • Skilled in the importance of correct lighting.
  • Knowledgeable about colour correction.
  • Knows where to get prints and/or printing to ensure best quality images.

What is most important is that your clients dramatically improve their chances of receiving images. that not only hold their value and integrity for generations to come. but that capture those so precious moments that may never be captured. by the person with just an expensive camera.

So there you have a few ideas as to why should always consider a professional photographer so.  have a look at the brilliant pictures on my site.  (I can show you plenty more if you still need convincing about what a good photographer can do!). and then give me a ring.

Oh. and here is a picture of a decent. wedding photographers camera!

Worcestershire wedding photographer does photography tuition.

Worcestershire wedding photographer now does photography tuition.

Yes, Worcestershire wedding photographer, Bravo Photography will help you to get to grips with your new camera or even talk through my methods of wedding photography or studio photography. Worcestershire wedding photographer, Bravo Photography has been a full time professional photographer for nearly ten years and a part time Worcestershire wedding photographer for a number of years before that. This wealth of experience means that a vast range of different situations and circumstances have been met and a technique developed to over come them.

The aspect of instruction that this Worcestershire wedding photographer really enjoys is helping those new to the world of Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras – OK, DSLRs for short but you might have been wondering what it stood for. If you want an in depth explanation of what this actually means then that can be provided but is by no means compulsory. Many new photographers seem happy to just set their new camera on automatic but leaves a huge proportion of the cameras potential unused. There is the instruction book of course but these can often be pretty scarey and very difficult to interpret. This is where I can come in as an experienced Worcestershire wedding photographer. I have a deep understanding of all the technical stuff that goes on in front of and behind the lens but having had years of experience as a retail trainer and mentor, I have the knack of translating this into simple terms that any one can relate to.

Instruction can take place either here, in your home, out on location or in my studio meaning that all levels of experience are catered for. Although you may think that hiring your own Worcestershire wedding photographer is going to be expensive I would advise you get in touch so that I can prove to you that it might not be as much as you might think.

Wedding Fair Changes

Wedding Fair Changes

There have been a few important changes to the wedding fairs I am attending including an event cancellation and I certainly wouldn’t want anyone turning up and finding no show going on.

Firstly the cancellation – the show that was due to happen at the Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge on September 15th has been canceled or more accurately postponed until the New Year probably.

The fair at the Whittington has been moved from the 22nd September to 13th October but unfortunately I am already doing a fair at Stourport Manor that day and can’t be in two places at the same time!

So my next fair will be;

6th October 2013 Himley House Hotel, Wolverhampton Road, Himley, Dudley, West Midlands, DY3 4LD

If you can’t wait to see my photography until then though I would be happy to arrange your own private viewing!

Whittington in, Kinver
Whittington Inn, Kinver

This ancient building is a great place for a Worcestershire wedding Photographer to capture great shots. To quote from their web site;

‘The Whittington is a majestic Grade I listed building, making it a truly historic public house. On entering you will pass the original 14th century door and walk through into a hallway made up of oak beams and archways. The variety of rooms, cosy snugs and old passages steeped in history mean that you are transported back to a bygone era when enjoying our delicious pub food or drink. With our function room we cater for a variety of private parties and banqueting from weddings to business meetings, and our highly skilled management team are always on hand to assist you with arrangements. Being located on the busy A449 in Kinver also means that we’re easily located so why not come and see what the Whittington Inn has to offer.’

This wedding fair which Worcestershire wedding Photographer, Bravo Photography is being organised by Say I will Wedding Fayres. John and Nicola always put on a good show and it is well worth registering with them in advance. This means that not only will you get notice of forth coming wedding fayres but special exclusive special offers and sometimes even a bottle of fizz!

So if you need a Worcestershire wedding Photographer or just want to come for a look, put the date in your diary now. You could also make me very envious by sitting out side just where I can see you and enjoy a nice Sunday lunch while I am busy talking to people!

Worcestershire Wedding Photography Posted

Worcestershire Wedding Photography of Alison and Rob’s wedding now on web site.

Just posted, Worcestershire Wedding Photography of Alison and Rob’s wedding yesterday at Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Yes, a lovely selection of pictures are now up on the Bravo Photography of Kidderminster web site. Just go to the ‘view and buy’ and tab to see them or follow the link at the end of this post. The more observant amongst you might have just noticed that I said yesterday. That is correct, Worcestershire Wedding Photography by Bravo Photography of Kidderminster, Worcestershire has pulled out all the stops and got the pictures all sorted out the very next day. OK, so it was a fairly small (but really nice), ceremony and I was only there for the ceremony itself at Kidderminster Register office. Even though, I did get pretty carried away , as usual, and Alison and Rob have two hundred and seventy lovely pictures that really capture the atmosphere and fun of their wedding in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Worcestershire wedding photography from Alison and Rob's wedding.

Worcestershire wedding photography from Alison and Rob’s wedding.

Worcestershire Wedding Photography by Bravo photography of Kidderminster really has captured the day beautifully and I was particularly pleased with the confetti shots as you can see. Two things really helped to get great Worcestershire Wedding Photography here. Firstly, Alison and Rob followed my advice and gave an usher a great big carrier bag full of boxes of confetti. This is a really cheap thing to do but it makes absolutely sure that every one has something to throw at the bride and groom and more confetti makes for better Worcestershire Wedding Photography!

The other thing that made this Worcestershire Wedding Photography shot really work was the wonderful co operation of the registrars at Kidderminster registry office. Given the weather I didn’t want people hanging around outside so they let everyone know my plan which worked beautifully.

Kidderminster wedding photographer at fair tomorrow

Kidderminster wedding photographer at fair tomorrow.

Despite the best efforts of the weather Kidderminster wedding photographer, Bravo Photography will be at the Gainsborough Hotel, Kidderminster, wedding fair tomorrow. I have just heard from the organiser, John at Say I Will Wedding Fairs that the show is definitely still on tomorrow and he has had a great deal of interest shown. The number of brides pre registered to attend via their web site is very encouraging. You do not have to pre book of course to come and see Kidderminster wedding photographer, Bravo at the show but It does usually get you one of John’s goodie bags!

Address for the hotel so you can make sure you do not miss Kidderminster wedding photographer Bravo Photography is Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster DY11 6BS. This hotel is very conveniently located and easy to find on the road between Kidderminster and Bewdley. Wedding fairs are a great way to see a good range of wedding suppliers in one place at a time and for you to be able to compare Kidderminster wedding photographer Bravo Photography’s work with other photographers. Wedding Photography in Worcestershire

What a lovely day for Wedding Photography in Worcestershire with Spring here at last.

Spring is a lovely time for Wedding Photography in Worcestershire and Kidderminster based Bravo photography is all ready to take your bookings for 2014 and 2015.  Now that might seem a long way ahead but I assure you it will soon go. Over the last couple of years Spring has become more popular for Wedding Photography in Worcestershire, mostly I suspect because of the brilliant weather we have been getting at this time of year – today being a prime example. OK, so it is not that warm so here at Bravo Photography steps are always taken to be as quick and efficient as possible with group photography outside. Time is always found for some nice shots together of the happy couple where snuggling up to keep warm is rarely a problem!

Don’t worry if you have not got your Wedding Photography in Worcestershire for this Spring organised yet though as there are some dates still available especially Fridays and other week days. Being a full time professional photographer I am, of course, available any day and do not have to juggle bookings with another job. I always suspect that when this happens one or if not both of the jobs may suffer and you certainly don’t want it to be your Wedding Photography in Worcestershire.

As you may have guessed today is one of those free days but I dearly wish that I did have some Wedding Photography in Worcestershire to do as I really can’t get out of painting that ceiling any longer and I know what I would rather be doing!

No decorating tomorrow though as will be at the wedding fair at Worcester Rugby club with a stack of albums for you to see first hand my Wedding Photography in Worcestershire.

Worcester Wedding Photography on show

Worcester Wedding Photography on show at wedding fair today – Six Ways Stadium.

Yes, the best of Worcester Wedding Photography is on show today at the I Will Wedding Fair at The Worcester Rugby Clubs Six Ways Stadium. This is one of the biggest shows in the area with around sixty exhibitors including Worcester Wedding Photography from Bravo Photography of Kidderminster, Worcestershire. There will of course be all manner of other wedding suppliers there from dresses and suits to flowers and invitations. Don’t forget the cakes and those delicious samples that always help the day along. That is if there is any room after you have visited the chocolate fountain!

Wedding fairs are an ideal way to get a great over view of all the Worcester Wedding Photography that there is on offer. There is nothing like actually seeing Worcester Wedding Photography in the flesh and meeting the photographers.

When viewing Worcester Wedding Photography websites on the internet it is all too easy to forget that the person behind the camera is just as important as the pictures that are produced. If you just don’t get on with the photographer you are just not going to get good pictures.  That is why it is so good to be able to meet potential customers first hand and make that all important first impression.

Wedding Photography from Worcester Rugby Club

Wedding Photography from Worcester Rugby Club

When trying to choose Worcester Wedding Photography it is all too easy just to fix on the price and not look beyond that to the quality and professionalism on display. I have no doubts at all that you will not find that lacking at Bravo Photography of Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Here is a picture to prove it from a brilliant wedding at Worcester Rugby club.

Come and see me there tomorrow from 11 am to 3 pm.

Wedding fair at Gainsborough House Hotel, Kidderminster, Worcestershire

Wedding fair organiser, Sharon Addis is doing a great job of keeping us all informed of the progress in the organisation of this Kidderminster wedding fair. An Email has just come through to say that the banner has just gone up outside the hotel, which, as many of you will know is on the very bust Kidderminster to Bewdley, Worcestershire road, so will be seen by lots of people over the next three weeks. Sharon has organised a great line up of local wedding suppliers for you, a preview of which can be seen on her web site if you haven’t already realised you can click there to go to the web site. I do hear tell though that there are still a handfull of spaces left for exhibitors although any other Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer will be out of luck as all spaces for Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer s are already taken. So, if you are a Worcestershire wedding supplier or have any friends who are, let them know and get in touch with Sharon as soon as you can.

Although the roads in Kidderminster itself are clear, the organiser, Sharon Addis points out that many of the exhibitors for this Kidderminster wedding fair. do come from  quite a wide ares and some of these exhibitors are still having trouble due to the state of the roads in their areas.

Once again I do have to commend the roads people as they have done a great job in clearing, and possibly more importantly, keeping clear the roads in Kidderminster. The other thing I have to comment on is how quiet the roads are which makes a very welcome change. The down side of all this though is that it does mean that people are not out and about spending in the shops and keeping the economy going. A quick trip to B&Q this evening proved the point point with this Kidderminster wedding photographer finding that having such a large store to himself was actually a bit un nerving!

Any way, the Gainsborough House Hotel, Kidderminster wedding fair has been rescheduled to Sunday 24 th February, 2013 11 am to 3.00pm. There will be a great selection of Worcestershire wedding suppliers attending including Worcestershire wedding photographer, Bravo photography. The Gainsborough House Hotel is located in a prime postion on the Bewdley road in Kiddeminster, Worcestershire and is easily reached from Birmingham and the West Midlands and even further afield being not too far from the M 5 motorway and the M42 motor way.

If you can’t wait for the February and the Gainsborough House Hotel, Kidderminster Wedding  fair then I will be at the Himley House Hotel wedding fair next Sunday 27th January.

Worcestershire Wedding Fair Cancelled

A Worcestershire Wedding fair has been cancelled due to the poor weather.

The Worcestershire wedding fair due to be held at Wood Norton Hall near Evesham, Worcestershire on Sunday 20th January has been cancelled due to the heavy snows this morning. The Worcestershire Wedding fair organised by I Will wedding fairs will be re scheduled but no date has been given as yet.

The one good thing about this is that I wasn’t actually going to be there! I was invited but had already committed myself to another Worcestershire wedding fair at the Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Road, Kidderminster, Worcestershire. I was contacted by the organiser, Sharon Addis this morning to say that as yet no decision has been taken as to whether this Worcestershire wedding fair will also be disrupted by the bad weather. She wrote that a decision will be made tomorrow, Saturday as to if the Worcestershire wedding at the Gainsborough House Hotel, Kidderminster will go ahead.

This is a wise move I think by the Worcestershire wedding fair organiser as it does seem as if the snowing has stopped now although I do admit that it is nearly ten o’clock as I write this. I did have to go from Kidderminster to Worcester today (not out of choice I must add but that is another rather long story!), and the roads were pretty clear. I do think that the highways department has done very well this time in keeping certainly the major roads clear. I saw two gritters in the time I was out and another one has just gone past this Worcestershire wedding photographers window.

In fact I think it should show more often as the roads were almost empty and I got to Worcester in very good time  very good time.

I will post about Sundays Worcestershire wedding fair in Kidderminster as soon as I know any news.

Wedding Fair for Worcestershire Photographer

New Wedding Fair for Worcestershire Photographer

Worcestershire Photographer, Bravo Photography has just been invited to another wedding fair – this time at the Whittington Inn, Kinver. As usual there will be a good selection of Worcestershire wedding suppliers and Worcestershire Photographer Bravo Photography will have a fine display of albums.

Whittington in, Kinver

Whittington Inn, Kinver

This ancient building is a great place for a Worcestershire Photographer to capture great shots. To quote from their web site;

This wedding fair which Worcestershire Photographer, Bravo Photography is being organised by Say I will Wedding Fayres. John and Nicola always put on a good show and it is well worth registering with them in advance. This means that not only will you get notice of forth coming wedding fayres but special exclusive special offers and sometimes even a bottle of fizz!

So if you need a Worcestershire Photographer or just want to come for a look, put the date in your diary now. You could also make me very envious by sitting out side just where I can see you and enjoy a nice Sunday lunch while I am busy talking to people!

Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer at fair

Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer, Bravo Photography is at the first wedding fair of the year at Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY11 6BS, 01562 820041.

For all the romantic souls out there who proposed or were proposed to over Christmas, this is your first chance to get serious about looking into all the local wedding suppliers and in particular Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer, Bravo Photography.

Wedding fair at Gainsborough House Hotel, Kidderminster, Worcestershire

I, personally am going to have to get myself out of my New Year and Christmas over eating and lack of exercise rut (I hate it when the gym is so busy in January!), and get some new brochures designed and produced as this Kidderminster Worcestershire Wedding Photographer has a couple of new packages to tell everyone about.

New Wedding Photography Package

New Wedding Photography Package for Kidderminster, Worcestershire Photographer.

Yes, a new Wedding Photography package price from Kidderminster photographer, Bravo Photography. In response to a lot of requests recently for smaller wedding packages I have decided to offer a Ceremony Only price of just £295. This will cover up to two hours photography with all the fully finished Wedding Photography pictures supplied on a full resolution, copy right free disc.

Two hours Wedding Photography is just right to cover some of the preparations if you are getting ready at the venue or your guests arriving if you are getting ready else where. I will then get some shots of the groom looking nervous and then, of course the bride arriving. The Wedding Photography will then continue into the ceremony depending on the requirements of the registrar or vicar. By using only  top quality cameras, lenses and other equipment I can take brilliant quality Wedding Photography very discreetly during the ceremony to really capture the atmosphere. There is usually an opportunity to stage some slightly more formal Wedding Photography after the wedding register has been signed and then it is outside for some confetti and group shots.

I always make sure that I am well organised for the family Wedding Photography group shots by drawing up a quick family tree so I know who the most important people are and make sure that I photograph them all quickly and efficiently. There is usually an opportunity to get a big group shot of all your guests together before I take the happy couple aside for some really nice creative wedding photography. If we have not done so already then it is time for some confetti and then a couple of nice shots in the car before you are whisked off to your reception.

Yes, all this wedding photography for just £295.

Worcestershire photography tuition

Worcestershire photography tuition by Bravo Photography.

Just got a new DSLR, need some Worcestershire photography tuition? Well you might have a new camera but I bet in  a few days (yes, I am writing this just before Christmas), there are going to be an awful lot of people wanting Worcestershire photography tuition.

Just picture the scene – piles of wrapping paper, excited children, and a brand new camera, much more sophisticated than any you have had before. A very common scenario I am sure with the price of Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras – OK, DSLRs getting cheaper and cheaper there are going to be an awful lot of new Worcestershire photography experts about soon.  But hold on a moment, maybe they are not quite as simple as they make out, what are all these buttons? What do all the letters on this dial mean? How do I put the battery in? Actually I have not made the last one up and is, in fact personal experience! When I got my first DSLR I actually spent ages trying to get the battery into the camera with the battery cover still attached! Hmmm… and her I am offering Worcestershire photography tuition.

Well that is exactly why I am offering Worcestershire photography tuition as I know all too well the potential pitfalls and problems that await the newly armed digital photographer. The important thing though, is that I have over come these problems to become a successful, professional Worcestershire photography expert. Not only that but being a qualified trainer with many years in a previous life designing and delivering training courses I am well placed to pass on this knowledge to up and coming Worcestershire photography experts.

So once you have puzzled over your new camera for long enough, give me a call to arrange a bit of one to one, or if you have a friend in similar trouble then one to two or more!), tuition. I always believe in giving the very best value for money so prices really are scary!

Kidderminster Photographer studio portriats after Christmas

Kidderminster Photographer suggests after Christmas portrait session to fill that  time before New Year.

Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography of Worcestershire has a bright idea to fill that gap between Christmas and New Year – a family portrait session. I actually rather like that bit of down time at the very end of December but early January sales excepted it can be rather hard to find some thing to do. A brisk walk of course always fits the bill but with the weather forecast as it is at the moment I fear that might not be such a good idea this year. So why not book a session with Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography near Worcester.

Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography has a lovely little studio in a out building behind my house right by Kidderminster railway station there is also has plenty of parking space available if you are not coming by train.  There are lots of advantages of booking a session with a Kidderminster Photographer at this time of year. If you have  children who are  at   university or college, they might be all at home – when was the  last time you had a good picture of all of you together. There might even be other family staying with you – what a great opportunity.

A big plus of getting a portrait  done at this time of year with Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography is that it could be a the basis for a ready made Christmas card for next year or a Thank You card for this year. I can  supply images on disc (unlike a lot of Worcestershire Photographer s ), for you to make your own or if you are not that creative then I can always design a card for you.

Don’t delay – give Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography a ring to see what availability is left.

Worcestershire Portrait Photographer has Studio for Hire

Worcestershire Portrait Photographer has Studio available for Hire.

Always one for making the most of assets, this Worcestershire Portrait Photographer has realised that he is sitting on one very useful one that could also be very useful to up and coming Worcestershire Portrait Photographer s. While my studio in Kidderminster is quite busy there are always times (thankfully!), when it is not in use. Well, I do need some time to process all the lovely photographs I take. So, when I am not using it, someone else could be.

Conveniently situated in an out building behind my house, Worcestershire Portrait Photographer studio is small but well equipped being ideal for individual portraits, family groups or small to medium product photography. Now to get a little bit technical. There is a good range of Elinchrom lighting ranging from BX 100 to BX and FX 400’s mounted on sliding ceiling rails making them super easy to reposition for maximum creativity and productivity. There is also some constant lighting which is ideal for low aperture portraits or product work.

The lighting is supported by a good range of light modifiers for the Worcestershire Portrait Photographer to get really creative. I have got different sized soft boxes, umbrellas, both shoot through and reflective, snoot, barn doors with filters and probably a bit more I can’t remember at the moment.

The back grounds will be of particular interest to the Worcestershire Portrait Photographer and consists of a very large Lastolite Hi Lite for easy and effective Hi Key photography. There is also additional lighting for the floor for perfect portrait photography. The Worcestershire Portrait Photographer will also appreciate the roller back ground system with three separate clothe back drops which can be raised or lowered with ease. I have black for brilliant, moody low key work, grey, which can be used as is or lit to any colour with filters and green to let your imagination run wild with green screen.

So if you are a budding Worcestershire Portrait Photographer get in touch and lets talk about you hiring some time in my portrait studio.

Kidderminster Photographer has DVD available now.

Kidderminster Photographer has school play DVD available now.

Kidderminster Photographer, Bravo Photography has just made available video DVD of Sytchampton First School, Worcestershire Christmas play, A Wriggly Nativity. It is available from the main web site for just £6 which includes postage direct to any address (in the UK!), that you specify. Of course I can post to anywhere but postage will be charged at cost so please let me know before ordering. Being a Christmas play it was staged just before Christmas so this does make things a little bit difficult for a Kidderminster Photographer to guarantee that discs will arrive before Christmas but I will do my best – you need to get your skates on though! I have to admit that it is now too late to get any disc to America or even anywhere as far flung as France or Spain now without resorting to a special courier which I guess is just not really even worth considering.

What a lovely present this would make for one of the children’s Grand Parents and if they are lucky children they might have lots of Grand parents so even more scope for ordering discs. It must be pointed out that this shameless pushing (worth of  a double glazing salesman), is all in a good cause. All monies (minus the rather miniscule cost of the discs and of course any postage), is going direct to the Sytchampton Endowed First School, Worcestershire, Parent Teacher Association funds. This Association really does do a terrific job in providing some very worth while extra amenities and services for this lovely little school just on the A449 between Worcester and Kidderminster where I have to admit, this Kidderminster Photographer takes his daughter every day.

So, to buy a copy just click on ‘view and buy’ on the main site and away you go.

Worcestershire Photographer does something a bit different

Worcestershire Photographer does something a bit different – video for a change!

Yes, today this Worcestershire Photographer did something a little bit different and quite enjoyed it.

It is that time of year again that every parent really looks forward to (it is up to you to decide if I am being sarcastic or not!), Christmas and that means the school Christmas play. In all fairness, I don’t dread them as much as I used to as from all the schools that I have been involved with over the years my daughters current one puts on by far the best and most inventive shows. Well, last week the call went out for someone with a video camera to record this years performance. ‘I am a Worcestershire Photographer’ I thought, but I don’t have a video camera. Hang on a sec, yes I do.

Since upgrading to my current main camera, the Canon 5d Mk 3, I am still getting used to the massive range of functions it has to offer the Worcestershire Photographer. One of these functions is, of course, full HD video recording. I must admit that I had never considered this function to be of much use but I may be just a little bit wrong about this – even a Worcestershire Photographer can’t be right all the time! One fact that did really sway me in my opinion is that I found out that a lot of movies, even some big budget one such as Black Swan are now being shot with them.

The big advantage for the Worcestershire Photographer that this system has over a standard video camera is the ability to use a wide variety of top quality lenses with them and to use such features as variable aperture with ease for great cinematic effects.

Not that this Worcestershire Photographer was doing anything like that today – just getting the kids singing beautifully was enough.

Wedding photographer Worcestershire orders for Christmas

Wedding photographer Worcestershire, last orders for Christmas prints.

Wedding photographer Worcestershire, Bravo Photography has spoken to everyone and or got orders in hand for albums for weddings that I photographed over the Summer, which is a good job as it is too late to get one before Christmas now! It is not too late to order prints though and still get them delivered by your Wedding photographer Worcestershire, Bravo Photography.

Wouldn’t a canvas or an acrylic print of the happy couple be a great present from their parents or one of those lovely close up portraits of the bride from the groom. Sorry getting all commercial and desperately trying to wrangle orders out of you but I have to make ends meet somehow!

Seriously, such things do make great presents which I know are always gratefully received but they do take time to produce so do have to be ordered very soon. The other problem is that time does tend to compress for your Wedding photographer Worcestershire as Christmas approaches. I have a last flurry of portrait sessions to do and get the pictures produced to my usual high standards and some wedding to photograph before Christmas. All this and I have to find time for the school play and my now annual running of the cake stall at the Christmas Bazaar. Unfortunately my retail skills from a former life have been spotted and there are an awful lot of cakes to shift! I have to admit that I don’t have to find time for much wrapping of presents as my lovely wife has that well organised, Thank You. Just as well really as it is not one of my strong points!

So if you have been thinking of getting some prints done from your Wedding photographer Worcestershire, Bravo Photography, please consider yourself well and truly warned that time is running out!

Portrait Photographer Worcestershire for Christmas

Portrait Photographer Worcestershire calls last orders for  Christmas.

Portrait Photographer Worcestershire, Bravo Photography of Kidderminster knows how much people like to give photographs for Christmas but you better get a move on!

I do have space for another couple of Portrait Photographer Worcestershire sessions in my Kidderminster studio this weekend which still gives just enough time for me to process the pictures, you to choose them and then for me to get them printed before Christmas – but only just. My studio is permanently set up with a range of lighting so I can produce a varied selection of pictures in one session. I can photograph individuals, babies, older children or family groups even pets if you really want to try my patience!

Bravo Photography is your ideal Portrait Photographer Worcestershire if you wanted to give a portrait photography session as a Christmas present. I can produce a personalised invitation for you so that you have something to give on the 25th or put in a stocking. How about as your Secret Santa present for work?

If you have already enjoyed a Portrait Photographer Worcestershire session with Bravo Photography Kidderminster there is still time to order extra prints or may be some thing a little bit different. I can put your brilliant portrait photography on mugs, calendars, jigsaws or a host of other items if you wanted something a bit different. Even if you have another favorite image that you want to have some fun with I can help.

Actually, here I am, a Portrait Photographer Worcestershire urging you on to order your photos and portrait photography sessions and I still have some of my own gifts to organise. Me and my big mouth, I rather foolishly said that wouldn’t it be a good idea to produce an album of my parents in law’s 60th wedding anniversary celebrations – yes was the answer and who has to do it?

Worcester Wedding Photographer parts with friend.

Worcester Wedding Photographer parts with old friend.

Canon 5d

Worcester wedding photographers old Canon 5d

Worcester Wedding Photographer parts with old friend, not quite as bad as it seems! This old friend is in fact my trusty Canon 5d and I am afraid it has to go. I got this when they first came out at a not insignificant cost but it was certainly worth it. The step up in quality from my Canon 40d was remarkable and the full size sensor gave remarkable wide field coverage – excellent for group shots at weddings. As tends to be the way these things though this was not the end of it and I soon found that I needed a much better lens to make the most of this wonderful cameras potential. Another thousand pounds later and I had a Canon 24 – 70 L series lens to keep it company – perfect kit for a Worcester wedding photographer.

Well that was all five years ago and technology has moved on. My trusty old camera was starting to get a bit long in the tooth.  Although still 100% reliable, I do tend to take the advice of an old friend who was an aircraft engineer and always replace things before they fail. Very sound advice for aircraft but equally valid for a Worcester wedding photographer who a camera failure could spell disaster. Well not complete disaster as I always have at least two spares immediately available but certainly an unwelcome interruption to a days wedding photography.

When the Canon 5d Mk3 was released it was a complete no brainer as my daughter might say and one was ordered straight away. OK pretty expensive even for a Worcester wedding photographer but well worth it. I shall be writing an account of living with it for the geekier readers of this blog (you know who you are!), shortly, but if you fancy investing a relatively modest amount in a piece of Worcester wedding photographer history then check out Ebay now!

Winter Wedding Photography Worcestershire

Wedding Photography Worcestershire – Bravo Photography’s Winter wedding tips.

It’s that time of year again when thoughts start to turn to Winter wedding photography Worcestershire and so here are a few of Bravo’s top tips.

It may seem obvious but pictures from Winter wedding photography Worcestershire are always going to be different from those from a Summer wedding, but there are several things that you can do to make the most of what you do have at this time of year. When you do get a good day you want to make the most of it so having the ceremony as early as possible will allow you the best chance of getting the best out of the light.

Even if it a clear day you certainly won’t want to be standing around outside while some wedding photography Worcestershire messes around doing group shots. This is where organisation, practice and sometimes a very loud voice comes in. I always work out a rough family tree with you so I know who the most important people for group shots are and so I can work out a logical flow for the order of the groups. This is, of course, something I do for every wedding but is even more important if the temperatures are barely above freezing.

If the weather is poor, or sometimes out of choice I can always to group shots in doors. I always carry a full portable studio lighting set up so if we do end up inside the pictures will be properly and professionally lit.

The one great advantage that December weddings usually have, of course, is Christmas decorations. These are a sure fire way to add a bit of colour and sparkle to what can otherwise be a rather drab time of year.

So if you want to talk over your plans for Winter wedding photography Worcestershire then just give me a ring.

Kidderminster Photographer landscape not just wedding photography in Worcestershire

Kidderminster Photographer does landscape not just wedding photography.

Black and white landscape

Black and white landscape from Pembrokeshire, Wales

Kidderminster photographer, Bravo Photography is not just wedding photography. Although weddings, portraits and product photography is the day job (and evenings, and weekends!), now there is still time to indulge in a little bit of photography as a hobby – after all that was the start point for where we are now. And sometimes I even manage to escape Worcestershire for a bit of a holiday.

I was searching through one of my many hard drives today for a really nice portrait, of myself for a change that I knew we took in Pembrokeshire last year. The is a really magical place near St. Davids called Porthgain which is a lovely little harbour set in a really dramatic post industrial landscape. In amongst the vast abandoned brick built granite bins there is the most wonderful fish restaurant called The Shed. Well not only do they have some of the best fish and chips anywhere but there always seems to be a fantastic light – just ideal for lovely portrait photography over lunch.

Anyway the attached picture is not actually from there but spotted it it during my search and I thought ‘that’s not bad for a Kidderminster photographer’. If memory serves correctly it was taken near Martins Haven where you can get a little boat over to Skomer Island and the Puffins.

What I really like about this shot is the moodyness which is really brought out by the black and white treatment, but just as you are being taken in by the remote ruralness of the scene you suddenly notice the damned great tanker waiting to go into Milford Haven oil refinery.

As I said, not bad for a Kidderminster photographer. I will continue to trawl through the archives for more great landscape photography and keep you posted!

Portrait Photography ready

Portrait Photography ready for Kate Tom and Georgina.

Portrait photography of Kate, Tom and Georgina

A lovely portrait photograph of Kate and Tom with their little girl Georgina.

I did a portrait photography session for Kate and Tom and their lovely little girl Georgina last week and the pictures are now up on the website. It was really nice to see them again as last time I saw them (when I photographed Tom’s sisters wedding), Georgina was just a bump. That was not the first time I had met Kate and Tom though as I did the photography for their wedding a couple of years ago at Red House Barns near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

This portrait photography session was a prime example of how you often have to be very flexible during a portrait photography session. I had set the studio up to do some nice relaxed shots of Georgina by herself first snuggled up on the sheep skin rug I as I usually find that such small children often need a little time to settle in. Not Georgina! She was beaming the moment she got through the door and when she saw Maisie the little grey kitten. Sorry Tom, you may not be able to get away without getting your own now. As Georgina was so lively I quickly re-organised the studio for a spot of Hi-Key portrait photography. This gives the stunning, modern pure white background that you can see in the picture on the left and is perfect for modern group shots.

I was then able to set up a slightly more restrained black background for some more subtle shots that look particularly good in black and white.

The pictures are pass worded on the web site so if you want to look you will have to talk to Kate and Tom! If you have then click here.

Wedding Photography ready!

Wedding photography for Jennifer and Simon

wedding photography by wedding photographer bravo photography Kidderminster near Worcester, Worcestershire

Wedding photography ready for Jennifer and Simon.

Wedding photography is now on line from Jennifer and Simon’s wedding on the 27th October at Holy Trinity Amblecot near Stourbridge. It was a lovely bright but rather cold day but really can’t complain as the weather for the previous week had been awful. I felt rather jealous of the bridesmaids fluffy shawls!

Holy Trinity is a great church with a very friendly and accommodating vicar – although the norm these days there are still a few living in the Victorian age! One aspect of the church that makes for great wedding photography is the balcony – best seat in the house! I was able to be down near the alter to photograph the bride and her father walking down the isle and that wonderful moment when the groom sees his bride in all her finery for the first time. I was then able to slip up stairs and set up two cameras in the balcony. The advantage of this approach is that one sits on a tri pod with a wide angled lens which I fire with a remote. The other I use on a mono pod with a decent tele photo lens. This means that I can take two pictures at the same time – one of the overall view and one close up. For instance I can shoot the groom putting the ring on the brides finger and zoom in on the ring going onto her finger at the same. All this adds up to great wedding photography.

To take a peep at the pictures just click here and it will take you to my online gallery where you can view or even buy some pictures. Remember that I offer an early bird special rate so if you are quick you can get a 20% discount.

The light at the church was brilliant and complimented the churches yellow brick work for some lovely wedding photography.

Confetti Wedding Photography – Getting the Best Shot

How to get the best Wedding Photography Confetti shot.

Confetti wedding photography

Lovely lively photograph of Confetti wedding photography

When I look through my wedding photography albums at meetings with clients one continual favorite is the confetti shot. Although it might seem a simple thing to get a photograph of people throwing stuff at you that is very far from the truth!

The very first thing to check is that your wedding photography venue will actually let you use confetti. It might seem an obvious point but worth checking before you book. Most venues are very reasonable about this, both churches and hotels but they may have some rules that you may need to follow.

A lot of churches will only allow the use of confetti in certain places, most usually outside the actual church yard. This is fine by me as one of the best places for confetti wedding photography is just outside the lyche gate just before you get into you magnificent wedding car. The other common rule is  about what sort of confetti is allowed – there is a strong preference for the bio degradable sort.

My top tip for getting the best wedding photography of confetti is to have lots of it! An awful lot of people just don’t bother bringing it themselves these days and those that do often leave it in the car – no good there! So to get the best shot I recommend bringing some of your own to pass around. Just a few boxes from Pound Land will do but but a nice big basket of dried petals is even better. If you are bringing your own then you will get the best wedding photography from large brightly colored petals as they fall more slowly and give a denser picture.

So there you have it – my top tip on getting the best confetti wedding photography shot.

Worcestershire Wedding Photographer

Worcestershire Wedding Photographer has posted pictures for Eleanor and Mark

Worcestershire Wedding Photographer Bravo Photography has just posted wedding photography from the wedding of Eleanor and Mark who got married at Curradine Barns, Shrawley near Worcester on the 20th October. And what a wonderful day we had for it! The weather had been awful all week and although rather foggy at the start of the day this soon lifted and turned into glorious Autumn sun. Autumn weddings are probably my favorite as the chance of good weather is normally very good, you get lovely backdrops of Autumn leaves and it is never too hot!  Although I can’t comment on wedding dresses, I can tell you from personal experience that jacket, waist coat, cravat (and nerves!), can be very uncomfortable indeed in blazing June!

Wedding Photography for Eleanor and Mark

Wedding Photography for Eleanor and Mark

Anyway, back to Eleanor and Mark who had made a splendid job of decorating the barns in a very Autumnal fashion with some brilliant and very creatively carved pumpkins which looked great in the day but even better with candles in after dark. Curradine Barns is a great place for a Worcestershire wedding photographer to take some great pictures. The bridal apartment upstairs is nicely lit and well furnished which makes for wonderfully relaxed preparation shots.

After a nice ceremony with music provided by one of the guests at the keyboard we had group shots and a drink in the court yard. After getting all the essential shots quickly and efficiently it was time for little wander with the very happy couple. Curradine Barns is great for really relaxed and varied shots of the couple with a short walk giving a nice variety of shots with a nice rural theme (including sheep), a bit of grunge with an old barn door and a wonderful Autumn tree in the near by church yard.

Kidderminster wedding photographer in the RAW

Kidderminster wedding photographer in the RAW.

Following on from my Kidderminster wedding photographer discourse on the importance of insurance and backing up your lovely photography I thought it time to discuss what happens to your images once you are off on honey moon and having a great start to married life.

Time for more sympathy for your Kidderminster wedding photographer. Monday morning sees me importing all the images into Lightroom. I am afraid I am going to get a bit technical in this post, largely because it does deal with rather technical, but very important issues for the quality of your wedding photography.

As a professional Kidderminster wedding photographer I always shoot in RAW (well actually I shoot a jpg as well as an insurance but never actually use them). What is RAW? Well from my point of view as a Kidderminster wedding photographer it is an awful lot of extra work but from an image quality point of view it is well worth it. Basically if you shoot a jpg file you are asking the camera to interpret the information from the cameras sensor in the way that it thinks best. There are two problems here; one is that what the camera thinks is best is not always what I think is best as a Kidderminster wedding photographer, especially where more creative wedding pictures are concerned. The second problem is that once the camera has made it’s decision there is no going back and all original data is lost.

A RAW file is essentially the pure unadulterated information from the sensor so that all decisions regarding white balance, colour cast and exposure  can be taken by me and whats more any changes I make are non destructive so I can always go back to the file later if I want to re edit the picture. Just the sort of approach you would expect from a professional Kidderminster wedding photographer.

Wedding Photographer Worcester still has his back up.

Wedding Photographer Worcester still has his back up.

Yes, Wedding Photographer Worcester, is still going on about backing up and protecting your images in a completely professional and secure manner. Yes, is the answer to the question you are probably thinking right now if you have been following this thread. Yes, I am more than a bit paranoid about this aspect of being a Wedding Photographer Worcester. All for good reason I think.

I certainly do not want to be claiming on that very expensive professional indemnity insurance I have been going on about for something as fundamental as this but one which I fear a great many Wedding Photographer Worcester overlook. So back to the exhausted professional Wedding Photographer Worcester staring at the files copying over to the computer. Ah! Last one copied, time for bed – not a chance! These files are immediately backed up onto a portable hard drive which is stored well away from the computer in another part of the building.

Bed time for for your very exhausted Wedding Photographer Worcester now? No, you can guess where this is going by now. There is no rest for your Wedding Photographer Worcester until all the files have been burned onto DVDs, lots of DVDs, an awful lot of DVDs in fact. A whole wedding can easily take up ten discs, oh, did I say that I record a jpg and a RAW file for added security?

Not until all the discs are burned and tucked away in yet another part of the building can I finally get to bed, very often long after your party has finished. This of course, is only the start of the process of turning the files in to the great wedding photography that you would expect from a professional Wedding Photographer Worcester.

Wedding Photographer Worcestershire has his back up again.

Wedding Photographer Worcestershire has his back up.

Wedding Photographer Worcestershire, Bravo Photography has been going on at some length about backing up and insurance. It was only meant to be one blog but I just seem to have so much to say on the subject. After getting a bit distracted in the last blog from Wedding Photographer Worcestershire by memory cards I am now going to talk about what happens to the pictures once they are taken.

I heard a tale the other day of a ‘photographer’ who had her camera stolen from her car a few days after a wedding. Well why was the camera in her car you may ask but more to the point why were the pictures from the wedding still in the camera and not backed up? There could be a lot of answers to these question but the overall theme would have to be a complete lack of professionalism. Well she probably had a ‘proper’ job as well and was only playing at being a photographer at the weekends.

If you get a professional Wedding Photographer Worcestershire like Bravo Photography then you need not ever worry about such things. As soon as the I leave the wedding,  cards are removed from the camera and stowed safely in a secret location (!). As soon as I get back, well after finding a big glass of wine anyway, I start backing up the images. This is the point where i call for a bit of sympathy. While you and your guests are dancing the night away I am stuck in front of the computer watching files download. As pass times go this is right up there with watching paint dry. One important thing here is that the files are  only copied on to the computer so the originals are still on the card and will only be erased just before the card is need again.

Right that is actually enough for one blog from Wedding Photographer Worcestershire Bravo Photography so more soon.

Worcestershire wedding photographer is backed up.

Worcestershire wedding photographer is backed up.

As a Worcestershire wedding photographer I wrote recently about the importance of being insured, then I thought some more and wrote another one about the importance of doubling up on equipment. Well I have thought even more and need to tell you something else which is essential for your Worcestershire wedding photographer.

OK, so we have got insurance and at least two lots of essential equipment what about securing  the images you have taken? How old are your Worcestershire wedding photographer memory cards and how well looked after are they? Although they are very reliably memory cards can go wrong and the more they are used the higher becomes the risk. This is why I always replace my cards when they reach two years old and make sure that the cards are formatted every time before they are used for a wedding. This makes sure that not only are they all clear and at full capacity for your wedding photography but this also reduces the risk of memory segments becoming unusable and thus risking losing images.

Of course, if you are a professional Worcestershire wedding photographer like me you will have a horribly expensive camera which has two memory cards so that the images are recorded twice thus massively reducing the risks from a memory card failure.

So what happens to all the old memory cards? Well they are used for slightly less important uses that wedding photography and are relegated to use for our holiday snaps. Actually this is rather welcome as you just would not believe the number of pictures that we take between myself, my wife and now are little daughter when we are away or just out for the day.

Just the sort of service you would expect of a professional Worcestershire wedding photographer.

Kidderminster Photographer, more on being covered.

Kidderminster Photographer, more on being covered.

As a Kidderminster Photographer I wrote recently on the necessity and advantages for the Kidderminster Photographer and for you of being insured. Well, I have been thinking more on the subject and think I need to point out that it is not just the insurance side of things where the wedding photographer has to be covered.

Having expensive equipment insured is one thing but that is not going to do you any good during a wedding. ‘Sorry vicar, could you just hold on a minute while I phone my insurance to get this camera I have just dropped replaced’. Hmmm… that would go down well! So not only do you need one all singing, all dancing top of the range camera to be a Kidderminster Photographer but two – oh and a third in the boot just in case!

Well, I guess I wouldn’t be going on about this unless this was what I do have! As a Kidderminster Photographer I always have two cameras with me, one on each shoulder, (one with a wide angle lens for group shots, and one with a long telephoto for long range shots). Everything on these cameras is interchangeable so if one should fail I can use the other immediately or whip off the lens to put on the other meaning almost no interruption to the wedding photography.

This did happen recently when the flash on my main camera failed just as I was about to do the signing of the register at a wedding so was able to just swap the flashes over and carry on. A short while later when the pressure was off a bit I was able to go back to the car where I have another camera, lenses and flash and was able to swap everything around again.

Just the sort of cover you should expect of your Kidderminster Photographer.

Photographer Stourbridge is covered!

Photographer Stourbridge is covered!

Photographer Stourbridge is covered. Yes it is that time of year again and have just renewed my professional and public liability insurance . Pretty boring and very expensive but as essential as a camera for a  photographer Stourbridge. OK.  So as with most things I certainly didn’t just pay up without without question.  A couple of on line quotes and and a phone call soon got my current providers to match the best quote I had got saving me eighty quid . Great! All in favor of saving money. Just don’t try it in me!

All this did get me to thinking about insurance. and to wondering how many of the new photographer Stourbridge  who keep popping up have got this essential bit of kit in their bags. along with their brand new DSLR which they may.  or may not. know how to use them. If you are looking to book a photographer Stourbridge for your wedding then it is well be worth adding this to your list of questions for them.

It is not just covering the rather expensive amount of equipment that the photographer has to carry about (although knowing that this will be replaced quickly if anything does go wrong is good). but about covering you. The really expensive bit of insurance for a photographer Stourbridge is the professional liability cover. In short this means that if I don’t turn up to your wedding. or if the pictures are not of the quality you expect. you can sue me and be fully compensated. Not that this would really make up for not getting the pictures that you wanted but it would mean that if you had to get another photographer Stourbridge in a hurry or set up some shots later you would be covered. Not that I have ever done any of things or intend to start doing so but just in case….

This is a good thing as you will be able to compare their work with mine and see just what good value mine is!

Wharton Park Golf Club, Bewdley, Worcestershire is a great place for Kidderminster photographer , Bravo Photography to photograph a wedding. The recently revamped interiors provide vibrant locations for wedding photography with good light from the large windows. Outside you have plenty of scope also as you are usually free to borrow a golf cart and go for a little photographic adventure. That long avenue of trees is a must and the little bridge over the lake is a delightful location.

Depending on the time of year, of course (early June or late May being your best bet), there is another great photo opportunity nearby for Kidderminster photographer , Bravo Photography. Just a short drive away, most years there is the most spectacular poppy field you can imagine. It does get quite busy though as people come from far and wide to see it – quite the local attraction. Perhaps this says something about the lack of other things to do in the area! I also know of another location near by where there is often a good show of poppies but a lot fewer people.

See you there from 11am.

Worcester Cricket Club is an ideal location for Wedding photography Worcester and of course, for your wedding especially if you are of a sporting type! The Cricket ground is easily reached from the local churches in and around Worcester so if you don’t want to get married at the Cricket ground itself, it can be easily reached. When you do arrive there is no problem in parking for your guests as there is plenty of parking space for your guests and your Wedding photography Worcester. A pretty boring consideration I know, but one which must be considered as not all locations are as well equipped with parking as this one.

Whether you chose to use the marque or the reception suit in side the main building the classic pavilion architecture is easily reached for a great back ground for your wedding photography. Wedding photography Worcester, Bravo photography particularly likes to do group shots in the stands as the rising nature of the seating means that it is very quick and easy to arrange a large number of people so they can all be seen easily. When you have a stand like this to play with it is very hard for anyone to hide!

Wedding Photography for Sharon & Trevor

Lovely photograph of Sharon and Trevor enjoying a VW camper on their wedding day Stourport near Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

It was a great day for Wedding Photography Stourport inconvenienced only slightly by the Great British weather. We made the most of the photography opportunities offered by the lovely VW camper van they had organised by going for a spin to Stourport Canal Basin. This area has been brilliantly restored in the last few years and provided sunning backdrops for some great Wedding Photography Stourport.

The lovely red brick provided an ideal back drop for Wedding Photography Stourport and that coupled with some rather dramatic skies made for some great pictures. I would certainly recommend going to the Stourport canal basin if you are getting married anywhere in the Stourport area. It provides a great circular walk for you that is easily accomplished in high heals and a totally impractical dress. You need not be gone from your guests for too long either as fifteen or twenty minutes would provide plenty of great shots in the bag.

Another useful location for Wedding Photography Stourport nearby is the common. Well it might be. There is currently a council led plan to return this area to what they consider to be it’s traditional role of as grazed land. Whether or not they actually have a right to do this or even own the land is in some question though. And whats more it would not have been grazed by cows but sheep or goats – now they would go down well with the dog walkers.

To view photographs from the day just go to PhotoCart page from where you can buy your favorites. If you are quick you can take advantage of ‘early bird’ offer.
